More "just wandering" today.
It was fun to see, attached to the fence outside the Museum of Fine Arts, some modern "reinterpretations" of classic Renaissance artwork, complete with various Apple gear.
For dinner we revisited BIG (Bistrot Girondin), where we had had lunch the day before. Leslie was eager to try La Salade du BIG, with foie gras, duck hearts, gizzards and potatoes. She loved it - I'm not a fan of organ meats, but I tried a duck heart and it wasn't bad.

The Venissimo tour officially started today, but of course we were already there. We spent the day walking around central Bordeaux, enjoying the city and its public art.
In the evening we were introduced to our tour leader Gabriella, as well as Rob from Venissimo, whom most of the group already knew well. We walked to a local wine bar where, in theory, we would meet "our local expert who will introduce you to local wines and gastronomy." Our group was spread out across multiple large tables, the wine was flowing freely, the food kept coming, and the expert couldn't keep up with the various conversations and questions and just let us have our own way.

In the morning we had a walking tour of Bordeaux. Our local guide Hela was both knowledgeable and kept our interest, ducking into small alleys to show us fascinating things.
We ended up at Marché des Capucins, one of the larger food markets.
Here we bought some food that we then took to a "private villa" (a very nice private house, with a delightful cat), where we "prepared" lunch with a local chef. You've heard the phrase "too many cooks"? Well, there were too many people crowded around the preparation area, so after slicing some strawberries for a dessert, I sat back and paid attention to the cat.
