This morning we began an "urban hike" of Oslo. On our way to the tram, I stopped to photograph decorative blocks with preserved leaves, butterflies and moths in the plaza.

We rode several stops, got off, and started walking through a part of Oslo I had not seen before. We walked alongside a small river with a number of interesting sights. We were delighted by a man playing fetch with his dog in the river - the dog was having a blast.

Several whimsical sculptures made from logs caught our eye.

We then walked through a part of town that had a distinct student/hippie vibe. One interesting aspect was that artists were encouraged to create murals on the walls. Periodically they would be painted over to start anew.

Our guide left us and the group had lunch in a nearby food hall. Several of us ate at a place that served burgers made from moose, deer and wild boar. I had the "Tipsy Moose" burger and it was quite good. (I've had both venison and boar before.)

Leslie and I then walked back to our hotel. I took advantage of the rest of the afternoon to take our accumulated laundry to an app-driven laundromat a couple of subway stops away. No attendant, no cash - everything was done through a phone app. It was clean and everything worked. For dinner we tried "Pepe's Pizza", a chain claiming to have "New York Style" pizza. There was a line waiting to get in, but eventually we were seated. The pizza was quite good, if not recognizably New York style. Next time I'd skip the garlic bread, which was forgettable.
