Our first visit today was to the Seljalandfoss Waterfall, but along the way there were some interesting sights.

This one was interesting. The woman who owned this farm was being treated for breast cancer, and decided to hang a bra out along the fence as a symbol of her defiance. Soon there was an offer to donate towards breast cancer research for every bra added to the fence. Hundreds followed - what we see here is the second set, after the fence was filled with bras previously.

The neat thing about the Seljalandfoss Waterfall is that you can walk behind it! It's spectacular just on its own, fed by melting water from the glacier-capped Eyjafjallajokull volcano, and when the weather is warm enough, you can walk a path to a cavern behind the water.

Next was a real treat. We traded our normal bus for a truck-based one with huge wheels - this took us into Básar, with a dirt road that crossed several fast-running streams. A sign along the way warned that ordinary cars should not proceed, though we saw a few. At a campground we had a picnic lunch, and then some of us went on a hike up a hill alongside a mountain stream. We were cautioned that it was difficult, and some did turn back, but it was a lot easier than some other hikes we've been on.

The scenery was glorious.
